Overview of Combo Sabroso (band)
COMBO SABROSO (”tasty combo”), specializing in Latin jazz and Latin dance music (…Salsa!), was formed during the summer of 1998 when band leader, pianist/vocalist, Matt Jenson, then living in Portsmouth, NH, made a decision to pursue a much deeper understanding of this music that he loves so much. He assembled the best Latino musicians he could find in Boston and got a weekly gig for the group…and the rest is….HISTORY!

Overview of Dragonfly Taxi Recording Project
I love the Jimi Hendrix tune, “Spanish Castle Magic.” The opening lyrics are, “It’s very far away. It takes about a half and a day to get there, if we travel by my uh, dragon-fly…” I imagined what kind of a dragonfly would be carrying Jimi across the universe and, along with some rhythmic inspiration from Jimi’s tune, I wrote a tune called Dragonfly Taxi. Here’s a few lines from it: “Well, I’m looking for that Dragonfly Taxi, that Jimi rode back in ‘67. I bet she could turn on less than a dime, how about a nickel?” So this is the inspiration for this project of my original reggae, rock/rap tunes. Soon come!
Here are a few excerpts:
1: Dragonfly Taxi!!
(no excerpt avail at this time)
2: Liquid Shiva (lyrics and vibe based on the Bhagavad Gita) Here’s an excerpt:
3: Dub Jumper (trippy and SLOW reggae original). Here’s an excerpt:
