Stranger in My House
Earlier in Matt's career he was heavily involved with roots blues music. It provides a deep foundation for just about any kind of music he plays and is a bedrock of his teaching approach. Back in the last 90's he played in a Boston based jam band with guitarist Cyril Lance (who later became the head engineer at Moog music). Cyril asked Matt to record an album's worth of his original music. This deeply felt and soulful album, entitled STRANGER IN MY HOUSE (2002), is one of Matt's favorite works. He and Cyril remain good friends today and are slowly working on releasing some tracks that were recorded back then and never finished.Â

Later, in 2004, the band recorded a live album in 2004 entitled Live from the Outskirts. Matt appears mainly on Hammond organ on this recording. Both recordings feature keyboardist and singer Johnny Neel who worked with the Allman Brothers.Â
